Fresno - Santa Barbara 21/08/2009

Nos levantamos y desayunamos en la habitacion. Terminamos nuestro desayuno y el ultimo tramo hasta llegar de nuevo a Santa Barbara. En nuestro camino hacia el sur, paramos en un outlet, uno famoso que hay entre Fresno y Bakersfield. Habia montones de tiendas y compramos un monton de cosas a buenos precios.

Tras haber parado suficiente tiempo, decidimos que teniamos que echar gasolina y comer algo, asi que paramos, y no podriamos parar mucho mas, pues estabamos bastante justos de tiempo.

Seguimos la autopista, pero a un cierto punto, habia un atajo hacia Santa Barbara, seguramente no un atajo en tiempo pero si en millas, asi que decidimos probar. Y fue una buena opcion, ya que cruzamos el Parque Nacional de Los Padres, maravillosos paisajes, flora estraña y arboles que parece esten patas arriba (cazzo trees como los llamaba Chris). Habia un poco de curvas, pero merecio la pena haber cambiado de planes.

Llegamos a Santa Barbara a eso de las 6.30pm y para cenar hicimos una buena Barbacoa, muy buena... acompañada de un buen vino en el jardin, la velada fue estupenda.

We woke up and we had a nice breakfast server in our room, we ate and get ready for the last ride till Santa Barbara. On our way there, we stopped at an outlet, famous one, between Fresno and Bakersfield. There were lots of shops in there, really nice ones, and we bought nice stuff for cheap prices.

After this, and having stopped already for too long, we decided to fuel the tank and have something for lunch, and not to stop anymore as we were tight on schedule.

We followed the freeway, but at some point, there was a shortcut to get to Santa Barbara, probably not shortcut in time, but in miles, so we gave it a try, and it was quite good option actually, we crossed the Los Padres National Forest, amazing landscapes, strange flora and trees which looked upside down (cazzo trees as Chris liked to call them). It was a bit of winding roads but it was really worth the change of plans.

We arrived to Santa Barbara around 6.30pm and we had a nice BBQ, really good one... accompanied by nice wine in the garden, the evening was beautiful.
