Nos levantamos a las 9am y sorprendentemente, estamos bastante bien del jetlag, hemos dormido suficiente y estamos frescos para afrontar el nuevo dia.
Chris y Mel nos sugieren la posibilidad de salir hoy a mediodia, y encaminarnos hacia el norte, asi no tendremos que hacer tantos kilometros el lunes para ir hasta San Francisco. Dormiremos en una zona de la costa, que se llama BIG SUR (el nombre promete :) )
Antes de todo eso, hemos empezado con un par de cafes nespresso para animarnos un poco, y echar un vistazo en internet donde podremos dormir en Big Sur.
Tras esto, nos encaminamos a hacer un tipico desayuno californiano, huevos revueltos con queso, bacon, patatas... muy bueno, espero que aguantemos sin comer con esto hasta la cena... :)
Despues de un merecido desayuno, nos duchamos, preparamos las maletas y nos encaminamos hacia big sur, sera un viaje argo, pero merecen la pena las maravillosas vistas que nos ofrece la costa.
Nos paramos un par de veces a admirar las maravillosas escarpados arrecifes, y las costas, en las que vemos gente haciendo kitesurf.
Tras varias millas, nos paramos en un lugar llamado San Luis Obispo a tomar cafe e uno de los innumerables Starbucks que se pueden encontrar en USA. Despues de esto, seguimos por la costa, y a un cierto punto, empezamos a subir una montaña, que es realmente que la costa en esta parte es asi. Paisajes increibles, y curvas realmente importantes, es la montaña y el precipicio... No hay mucha ocasión de admirar el paisaje maritimo mientras se conduce...
A un cierto punto, en una localidad que se llama Gorda, tenemos que pararnos a echar gasolina, por miedo a no encontrar otra gasolinera más adelante, y estabamos casi en reserva... en USA los precios no estan regulados, y puedes encontrarte de todos los tipos, pues estos tios, eran careros, nos costo 4.799 el galón, mientras en la mayor parte de america lo encuentras por 3.299, que le vamos a hacer.. sigue siendo infinitamente más barato que en Europa...
Finalmente, llegamos al condado de Big Sur, una maravilla entre bosques, acantilados y el oceano pacifico a nuestros pies, y decidimos ir a cenar a algún sitio antes de hacer el check-in en Big Sur Park Lodging. Vamos a un sitio llamado Big Sur Bakery & Restaurant, muy cerca de donde pasaremos la noche. En principio, este restaurante, según la guia routard, está bastante bien. Nos entamos, pedimos unas copas de vino y unas pizzas, visto que los precios son un poco caros, ya las pizzas nos costaran casi 20$, y son un tanto extrañas, como por ejemplo la famosa pizza con albondigas que se pide Chris. Después de más de 45 minutos de espera, de haber preguntado a los camareros cuanto más teniamos que esperar para las pizzas y varias bandejas de pan, nos hartamos y decidimos dar un paso adelante y largarnos... Decimos que nos vamos y Melinda pide la cuenta, mientras Chirs y yo nos encaminamos al coche, Silvia espera a Melinda, que sale a pedir algo de dinero suelto a Silvia, visto que no tenía suficiente. A todo esto, la camarera qeu sale corriendo detrás de ella pensando que se iba sin pagar 5$¡¡¡ increible...
Tras perdernos el maravilloso atardecer, y que teniamos hambrre, decidimos ir a otro sitio que este más a nuestro alcance, vamos, donde nos den de comer por poco... y vamos a un restaurante de carretera cerca de la entrada al recinto donde iremos a pernoctar. Aquí la cosa cambia, enseguida tenemos nuestra comida en la mesa, y con bastante hambre... devoramos la cena.
Despues de haber repuesto fuerzas, nos encaminamos a los apartamentos, hacemos check-in y nos instalamos, encendemos la chimenea, y bebemos un par de botellas de vino de California, y a dormir, que hace sueño.

We wake up at 9am and amazingly we are pretty ok from jetlag. We slept enough and we are fresh to tackle the new day ahead.
Chris y Mel suggest us the possibility of leaving today noon and go towards north so that, we do not have to do so many miles on monday to get to San Francisco. We will sleep by the coast in a place called BIG SUR (promising :) )
Before all this, we already begun with a couple of coffees nespresso to cheer us up a bit and have a look on the internet where we can sleep in big sur.
After, we head a place to have a typical californian breakfast, scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, potatoes... yummi, I hope we will last without eating until dinner... :)
Right after the breakfast, we get ready and begin our journey to Big Sur, it will be a long journey, but it is worth the beautiful landscapes.
We stop a couple of times to admire the lanscapes of cliffs, the coast, people doing kitesurf...
After several miles, we stop at a place called San Luis Obispo to have a coffee in a Starbucks (loads of them in the USA). After, we follow the coastline and at a certain point, we begin climbing a mountain, which is really the coast shaped like that in this zone. Incredible landscapes, winding curves, cliffs... Not a lot of time to admire the landscape while dricving though...
At a certain point, in a village called Gorda, we have to fuel, as we were already almost running out fuel... in USA, prices of fuel are not regulated, so we found the most expensive gas station in the area, it were 4.799 per gallon, while you can find it for 3.299, that is life... it is really much cheaper than Europe, anyway...
Finally, we hit big sur county, marvellous, among forests, cliffs and pacific ocean at our feet, we decide to go to dinner before doing check-in at Big Sur Park Lodging. We go to a place called Big Sur Bakery & Restaurant, close by the place where we will spend the night. It is recommended by routard guide, we sit down, order some wine and some pizzas, as the rest of the menu was a bit expensive. The pizzas are expensive 20$ and really strange, like the pizza Chris ordered (famous pizza with meatballs :( ). After more than 45 minutes waiting, having asked the waitress and several trays of bread with butter, we got fed up and decide to go away. We say we leave and Melinda asks for the bill. In the meantime, Chirs and I go to the car, while silvia waits Melinda to go out from restaurant. Mel goes out to ask Silvia for some money as she ran out, and the crazy waitress running after her, thinking whe was leaving without paying 5$¡¡¡ Hilarious¡¡¡
We lost the sunset and we were hungry, so that we decided to go to another place closer to our final destination. We went to this restaurant on the route, close to the place where we should sleep, and we got our meals in a really fast pace, beginning eating as we were really hungry.
After recovering, we go to do check-in, make ourselves comfortable, lit the fire and got a couple of bottles of californian wine in good company... then sleep, we were tired
