Español:
Nos intentamos levantar pronto. Hemos tenido mucha suerte con el tiempo, pues normalmente se levanta nublado y despues de mediodia aclara, pero hoy... desde primera mañana, un sol esplendido.
Vamos a hacer picnic en la playa, cerca de donde trabaja Chris, asiq ue nos vamos los dos a la playa, recogemos todos y nos vamos a hacer un poco de suf. Silvia y Melinda llegaran un poco despues.
Llegamos a la Universidad, entramos en el edificio de Investigacion Marina, donde trabaja Chris y vamos a su oficina a recoger las tablas de surf y los trajes de neopreno. Esta muy a mano, como he dicho anteriormente, acceso a la playa, asi que pueden ir a hacer surf cada dia durante la hora de la comida. Nos cambiamos, cogemos las tablas, que por cierto, entran en el ascensor (todo es grande aqui), y nos dirigimos a la playa...
Nos lo pasamos de miedo en la playa, fue complicado, a Chris ya se le da bastante bien lo de hacer surf, pero para mi fue la primera experiencia, no lo habia probado antes, pero que mejor lugar que las playas de California para ser la primera vez? ;-)
Dejamos a las chicas que tomaran un poco el sol, y nos fuimos de nuevo a hacer surf, y nos divertimos de nuevo un rato. Habia bastante gente haciendo surf, pero aun asi, nos lo pasamos bien.
Al final, cuando casi nos estabamos yendo, Chris y yo decidimos quedarnos un poquito mas, pero esta vez, un poco mas alejados de donde estabamos la primera vez, para ver si las olas eran un poco mejores, y fue ivertido. Las chicas, un poco aburridas y con frio, ya que el cielo se estaba cubriendo, se fueron a casa mientras nosotros estuvimos jugando con las olas.
Terminamos de hacer surf, y volvimos al edificio de Chris a cambiarnos, ducharnos y dejar las tablas de surf. Despues llegamos a casa, cansadisimos, y nos preparamos algo de cafe, estabamos muy cansados, nos lo mereciamos!
Nos pusimos a hacer planes para el resto de la tarde, y al final, decidimos que ibamos a ir al cine, y a cenar a un restaurante indu. Fuimos a un restaurante inu en state street, en el centro de Santa Barbara, y despues al cine, muy cerquita de alli, precioso por cierto, a ver la ultima pelicula de Tarantino inglorious basterds. Muy buena la pelicula, nos lo pasamos bien y nos reimos tanto.
Tras esto, nos fuimos a casa, ya que al dia siguiente, nos vamos a visitar Los Angeles, y despues directamente a hacer noche a Barstow, antes de llegar a Las Vegas.

We try to wake up earlier today, and we manage to do so. We are really lucky as today, for the very first time since we arrived to California, and as Melinda and Chris told us happens very frequently, the mornings here are cloudy and grey until noon every day, but today... it is sunny from the beginning.
We are going to have picnic at the beach, the one by Chris' office, so Chris and I go to the beach before, so that we can surf a bit, and Silvia and Melinda will catch us up later.
We arrive to University, we enter the Marine Research Centre building, where Chris works, and we go to his office to take some boards and the wet suits. It is really handy as told in a post before, as he really has open access to the beach and they even can go surfing at lunchtime. We change, take the boards, which, by the way fit into the elevators (everything is big in america), and we head to the beach...
We had great time at the beach, we were trying hard, Chris is already a pretty good surfer, but this is my first time, i never ever tried before, and what a better place to try than California beaches? ;-)
The girls arrive at noon, we are hungry after so much sport, and then we go to the sand to have some lunch. Matthew and Emy, some friends from Chris and Mel, join us, and we have some fun together having the picnic. We have some cold pasta salad, cooked by Silvia and the Tortillas we already cooked yesterday night. Everything was delicious.
We leave the girls to get a bit of tan, while we head again towards the waves, and we still had great time. It was a bit plenty of people, but we enjoyed it.
In the end, when almost the beach time was finishing, Chris and I decided to stay a bit more, but this time, a bit on the other side of the beach and see if the waves were a bit more good to us, we had great time as well. The girls, were a bit annoyed and cold, as the sun went after the clouds, so that they went home, while we stayed a bit more for the wave fun.
We finished surfing, and we went to Marine building to change, have a shower and leave the boards. Then, we went home, we were really tired, and we had a nice cup of coffee, we deserved it!
We started making plans about what to do in the evening, and we concluded that, going to the movies and dinner in an indian restaurant would be a great option, and so we did. We went to this indian restaurant in state street, and then to the cinema in Santa Barbara downtown (really cool one) to watch "inglorious basterds", the latest film by Tarantino. Really good movie, we had good fun in there and we laughed a lot.
After that, we went home, as tomorrow, we are going to visit L.A., and then, heading to Barstow, as first stop before Las Vegas.
